A smooth landing for your business.
Most small businesses in America shut their doors when the owner retires. Selling a business is a long and difficult process—particularly when the business does not have a succession plan.
Stonykill Capital was formed by Aron Kates, an Army veteran and entrepreneur, as a single-purpose vehicle to buy one great business with speed and certainty.
If you are an owner looking to retire or transition away from the business, you can preserve your legacy and receive an attractive exit plan. I invite you to reach out.
About Aron
I come from a family of entrepreneurs who instilled in me a deep respect for the effort and drive required to run a business in America. For years, I wanted to follow in their footsteps but felt an obligation to serve our great country. Now, after a career of military service, I am ready to use the leadership lessons I gained to preserve the legacy of a great business.
I have been married since 2015 to my wife, Hannah, who is also an entrepreneur. Hannah and I have an infant daughter, and are excited for this next chapter of our lives.
Military Service
I graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point and served in the Army for nearly a decade.
While in the Army, I was an Apache pilot and deployed to Afghanistan, where I flew combat missions and oversaw operations, helicopter maintenance, and the welfare of my soldiers. Afterwards, I joined Special Operations, where I ran difficult and technical operations in the Afghanistan region.
I have led teams from 4 to 100 people and experienced leadership in the most challenging circumstances.
Education
Since leaving the Army, I rediscovered my goal to become an entrepreneur and received an MBA from Harvard Business School.
At Harvard, I studied accounting, financial analysis, small business operations, sales, marketing, and logistics. I realized that I could use the skillset I gained to once again lead a team, create value for a great company and its people, and offer an attractive exit plan for an existing business owner.
I have put together a group of investors who believe in this mission. If you are open to discussing a succession, I invite you to reach out.
